About The House 

Stretching over 13,000 SF and rising to 5 floors, 620 Cross Street has remained a staple of Dresden, Ontario since its construction in the late 19th Century.  Fully renovated from Funeral to Family Home, this house has held ceremonies for almost one hundred years before featuring on the hit show "We Bought A Funeral Home". 

History

1885 - 1895

Ed Huston Lumber

Built in 1885, the building was first used as a family home for an up and coming lumber dealer Ed Huston, in Southern Ontario. After his business began to falter, the home exvhanged owners for a number of years maintaing its use as a family home.

1920 - 1948 - 1979 

Wilson Clark
Holmes Funeral Home 
Thomas L. DeBurger 

Purchased by Wilson Clark in 1920, he and his family transitioned the buliding from home, to funeral home. They continued their practice for almost thirst years before selling to the Holmes, who continued the practice and even gaveThomas DeBurger his start as a funeral director before he and his wife bought the property in 1979 where they became local icons for the work and stature. 

2016 - 2020 - Current

Television Show
Family Home 

Retiring in 2015, the DeBurgers moved and 620 Cross Street remained vacant for 5 years with multiple deals and endevors to convert the property fell through until 2020 when the Blumbergs decided to move from their city home to Dresden and convert the once funeral home into their family home. The transformation of the house was filmed by Discovery Plus and quickly became one of their most successful shows to date, titled "We Bought A Funeral Home".
